Writing on Medium or Karya Karsa?

Hey there! Good morning/afternoon/evening/night, wherever you are. Lately, I’ve been re-energizing my writing muscles to bring more positive and engaging content to life. It feels like such a waste to let all these ideas just float around in my head without turning them into something solid.

So, recently, I started considering writing on online platforms like Karya Karsa and Medium. I’ve actually wanted to try these two for a while, but I just now found the motivation to sign up and dive in. However, I found out that Medium’s paid writer program only applies to their paying members.

In the end, I had to let go of that option and shift my focus to Karya Karsa instead.To be honest, I was pretty tempted by Medium’s membership program. Without it, you’re limited to reading just five articles a month, and the quality of writing there is amazing. I just can’t see myself getting by on only five reads a month and waiting for the next round of freebies.

But I’m also not ready to pay for a membership to publish my work – especially since I’m looking to monetize my writing too. For now, I’m focused on finding my target audience and testing out ways to “sell” my writing with minimal upfront investment. Plus, I want to see where my writing takes me, especially if I end up too busy with school to make the most of a paid membership right away.

So, my pick is Karya Karsa. Fun fact: Karya Karsa is actually a homegrown platform created by Ario Tamat, Pribadi Prananta, and Aria Rajasa – all Indonesian! It’s a local product here that’s really making waves. Aside from being free, the whole process – from creating an account to publishing – was super smooth and easy to understand (Okay, this is starting to sound like a testimonial 😅).

But seriously, it’s simple and hassle-free, unlike other platforms that have stricter rules. And it’s not just for writers; video creators, YouTubers, streamers, even comic artists can express themselves here.

They even have a simulation tool where you can estimate potential earnings based on the number of monthly buyers and the price you set. Pretty cool, right? I have high hopes for Karya Karsa because I haven’t seen another platform with such features and user experience that’s quite as popular.

On top of that, Karya Karsa’s team is super active on social media, so you can see how responsive and supportive they are toward creators on the platform.
